David got his start in radio at a college station when he was twelve. He was immediately hooked.
As an adult, David moved up the ranks of small and medium-size stations before working for Clear Channel, Americas largest broadcasting company, in his home town of Tampa, Florida.
He’s done everything from producing sports shows, anchoring an hour-long news program every afternoon, to playing just about every type of music as a DJ. After deciding he didn’t like the rat race, the traffic jams and the crime of the US, David came to Australia in February 2000.
David then worked in Kingaroy at 1071 AM/Power FM until those stations were sold, then landed at 2WEB as the breakfast announcer in November 2001.
The longest he had worked anywhere previous to Outback Radio was three years, so all his previous records have been well and truly broken!
Dave is now an Australian citizen and, to paraphrase Peter Allen, is ‘proud to call Australia home’.
You can hear him for a mix of news, light chat and the best hits of all time on Breakfast every weekday from 5:30 – 9:00am.
